Berri, announced that a framework has been agreed upon to begin indirect talks with Israel on land and maritime border demarcation, which will be led by the Lebanese Army, about 856 square kilometers of waters are disputed between the countries. The United States has been leading the efforts to mediate the border talks between Lebanon and Israel as the two countries have been in a state of war since 1948. بیروت : لبنان میں حزب اللہ کے اتحادی نبی بیری ایک بار پھر اسپیکر منتخب ہوگئے اور امریکا اور سعودی عرب کو منہ کی کھانی پڑی۔ دونوں ممالک نے دعویٰ کیاتھا کہ حزب اللہ کو شکست ہوئی ہے اور پارلیمنٹ میں اس کی اکثریت نہیں رہی تاہم اسپیکر کے انتخابات میں نبی بیری کی کامیابی نے ان دعووں کوغلط ثابت کردیا ووٹنگ میں نبی بری کو 128 اراکین پر مشتمل پارلیمنٹ میں 65 ووٹ ملے جبکہ 40 ووٹ مسترد ہوئے اور 23 نمائندوں نے کسی کو ووٹ نہیں دیا، اس طرح نبی بری ایک بار پھر اسپیکر منتخب ہوئے –
